NH Club Notes: Food writer to speak to White Mountains DAR

For the past 15 years, Nashua Lions Club members have served food to members of the PLUS Company Special Olympics team at their annual awards cookout. WHITEFIELD — The White Mountains Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution DAR will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Whitefield Public Library, 8 Lancaster Road (Route 3 North).

The program, which will begin at 1:30 p.m., will be presented by Ed Behr, publisher of Art of Eating magazine, author of three food-related books, a chef and a “foodie.”

For handicap accessibility, use the rear parking lot and ramp. Additional parking is available behind in the church lot. Guests and the public are welcome at this meeting and all DAR meetings. Refreshments will be served.

Matthew Thornton DAR to meet next week

NASHUA — The Matthew Thornton Chapter, DAR will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the First Church, 1 Concord St.

Guest speaker Jacqueline Marshall, a state DAR volunteer genealogist, will give a program on “Genealogy: Latest Updates.”
