DERRY — The Derry Parks and Recreation Department will hold the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat on Saturday, Oct. 28.
Doors will open at Veterans Hall, located at 31 West Broadway, where the costume parade and contest will be held beginning at 11:30 a.m. sharp.
Organizers say prizes will go to those with the most creative and spookiest, as well as one for judges’ choice.
From 12 to 3 p.m., trick-or-treating will take place in downtown Derry.
Multiple businesses along West and East Broadway, Crystal Avenue and Hood Commons are participating this year; they are identified by a large orange jack-o-lantern poster in their windows.
Trick-or-treating bags are available at the parks & recreation office, the Taylor Library and the Derry Public Library beginning Oct. 9, They may also be picked up at the costume parade at Veterans Hall the day of the event.
