Fisher Cats split twinbill

Kevin Kaczmarski’s walk-off single in the 10th inning scored Luis Guillorme to lead the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to a 2-1 Eastern League win against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton, N.Y.

The Fisher Cats (52-76) gained a split with their 3-2 nightcap win. Anthony Alford, Lourdes Gurriel and Derrick Loveless each had an RBI in the win.

Shane Dawson (4-9) got the mound win in relief. In three innings, he allowed four hits, one unearned run, one walk and fanned three. Starter Francisco Rios pitched four innings, allowing one hit, one unearned run, one walk and had two strikeouts.

In the opener, Jose Fernandez (1-2) suffered the loss in relief for the Fisher Cats, who had 12 hits but left 10 runners on base.

New Hampshire begins its final homestand today at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, hosting Hartford in a 7:05 p.m. start. Sean Reid-Foley (8-11, 5.18) gets the start for the Fisher Cats.
