Attacking tobacco

August 22. 2017 12:48AM

To the Editor: The ban on smoking in Manchester parks is aimed at tobacco. The fascists are not fooling anyone. I have enjoyed, on many occasion, smoking a fine cigar at the foot of the statue in Victory Park. The guy at the left in that statue, in the Army uniform, holding the rifle, is F. X. Tessier, my grandfather, who was a tobacco lover. He fought for this country for freedom, not the Manchester aldermen’s version of fascism.

I regret I will no longer be patronizing any downtown Manchester restaurants or businesses.
