Fishers quieted by Yard Goats

Stephen Cardullo, Anthony Phillips and Luis Jean each drove in two runs to lead the Hartford Yard Goats to a 6-1 Eastern League triumph against New Hampshire Tuesday before 4,846 fans at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Cardullo missed the cycle by a double. He had a triple in the second inning, a single in the seventh and a two-run homer in the eighth. Hartford broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the seventh inning, getting a two-run single from Phillips and Jean. Reese McGuire homered in the home seventh to account for New Hampshire’s lone run. McGuire had two of New Hampshire’s eight hits.

Konner Wade (7-6) earned the win. He allowed seven hits in seven innings, He fanned three and walked one. Ryan Borucki (1-3) was the losing pitcher after allowing eight hits in seven innings. He allowed four runs, one walk and fanned five.

The Fisher Cats (47-73) send Jon Harris (6-10, 5.26) to the hill today at 7:05 p.m. to face Jack Wynkoop (5-8, 4.65) of Hartford (56-64).
