An original, personalized pet portrait by New Hampshire artist Kate O’Dell will be among the items offered at “A Bark to Remember” fundraiser at 42 Maple Contemporary Art Center in Bethlehem.

BETHELEHEM — “A Bark to Remember – Canine Art Fundraiser” will run Friday through Aug. 28, at the 42 Maple Contemporary Art Center, 42 Maple St.

There will be an opening reception Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The center is pleased to announce its collaboration with Above the Notch Humane Society, a nonprofit animal rescue organization that provides assistance to needy animals with food, shelter, socialization and veterinary care in the Littleton area.

These two organizations have joined forces and recently opened a national call for art to celebrate all things canine and raise funds for the no-kill organization.

People from across the country have donated original artwork to be sold at the reception on Friday.

One item of interest is the offer by New Hampshire artist Kate O’Dell to create one personalized pet portrait of an animal of your choice. This piece will be original, custom and unique to the buyer’s wishes, valued at $200. A sample of O’Dell’s work will be on hand at the reception.

Board members from Above the Notch will be at the reception to answer questions, and representatives from Muddy Paws Sled Dog Kennel will present gear demonstrations.

All artwork has been donated by the creators and all sales will go directly to ATNHS for the care of rescued animals.
