Laconia Motorcycle Week rumbles into New HampshireJune 07. 2017 12:56PM
LACONIA — The 94th running of Laconia Motorcycle Week kicks off Saturday and rolls on through Sunday, June 18, with music, rides, swap meets, demonstrations and, of course, lots of people- and bike-watching.
Rally Headquarters opens at 8 a.m. on the boardwalk by Lakeside Avenue next to the pier.
The 11th annual Peter Makris Memorial Ride, with state police escorting riders around Lake Winnipesaukee, begins at 11 a.m. Saturday from Naswa Resort, 1086 Weirs Blvd. Afterward, there will be lunch and entertainment throughout the afternoon.
This year’s ride will benefit the Laconia Fire Department’s Water Rescue Team and Easter Seals NH Veterans Count Program, among others. For information, visit naswa.com.
Lots of area businesses are hosting events, displays or music during opening weekend, including the Broken Spoke Saloon, 1072 Watson Road, Laconia; Laconia Roadhouse and entertainment tent, 70 Endicott St. North; the Winnpesaukee Marketplace, 21 Weeks St., Laconia; the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, 1122 Route 106, Loudon (FIM North American Vintage Championships); Makris Lobster and Steak House, 354 Sheep Davis Road, Loudon; Heritage Harley-Davidson, 142 Manchester St. Concord; Tower Hill Tavern, 264 Lakeside Ave., Laconia; and American Police Motorcycle Museum, 194 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith (with unveiling of motorcycle week sculpture.)
On Sunday, another highlight will be the Big Air Jumps and Stunts Show at Makris Lobster and Steak House starting at noon.

As a side note, Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad is offering rail service between Meredith and Weirs Beach Saturday and Sunday and again June 15-18. The fare is $20 per person for ages 3 and up and free for those 2 and under.
