Tape Face of 'America's Got Talent' fame headed to NH

February 15. 2017 1:02PM
Tape Face, a comic mime who favors wide-eyed antics and a covered mouth, is planning a United States tour with a Concord tour stop this spring.

CONCORD — Tape Face, the standup mime whose quirky antics won over judges and audiences on “America’s Got Talent” in 2016, will bring his messenger bag full of props to the Capitol Center for the Arts, 44 S. Main St., this spring.

Tickets are $25 to $35, and will go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday for Tape Face’s just-announced show at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 21.

Tape Face delights in the silly with a delivery that lives somewhere between awkward silence and clever physical comedy, whether it’s seemingly skydiving atop a stool while Tom Petty’s song “Free Fallin’” plays or donning oven mitts to act out a two-handed puppet-like lipsynch to the track of “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross.

“You’ll laugh, you’ll scream and ultimately end up like Tape Face — lost for words,” Capitol Center venue officials said in announcing the show. “Tape Face is a character with universal appeal. Delightful, wry, many-layered and hilarious, he transcends the barriers of language and culture.”
