NHIAA Roundup: Raymond blanks Pelham in girls' soccer


Senior goalie Mikayela Anguiano turned back four shots and made two first half goals stand tall in leading unbeaten Raymond to a 2-0 girls’ soccer win against winless Pelham in Raymond Thursday.

The Rams (3-0) took a 1-0 lead just 1:30 into the game on a breakaway goal from junior Katelyn McCoole. Senior All-State forward Sabrina Sweeney provided the Rams with an insurance goal at the 18:20 mark.

The Rams, who took 12 shots against Pelham (0-3), resume play a week from Friday in Concord at 4 p.m. against Bishop Brady.

Pinkerton 2, Nashua South 0: In Nashua, Pinkerton (2-0) blanked South (1-1-1) behind four saves from Sammy Mitchell. Keara Doolan scored the eventual game-winner just 3:20 into the game. Julia Bousquet tallied the insurance goal.
