Boy, 13, seriously injured after being struck on Kelley Street

MANCHESTER — A 13-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Tuesday when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle, according to police Sgt. Christopher Goodnow.

The boy rode out of an alley on to Kelley Street about 2 p.m. when he was hit by a silver Volkwagen, Goodnow said.

He landed on Kelley Street and was run over by another car, Fire District Chief Al Poulin said. Firefighters used two airbags to lift the car off him, Poulin said.

“We were able to get the car up high enough so the frame of the car wasn’t pinning him,” he said.

The boy was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, police said.

Police did not release the boy’s name or the names of the drivers of the two cars involved in the accident.
