Manchester man seriously injured after driving into oncoming traffic

BEDFORD — A Manchester man suffered life-threatening injuries Monday when he drove into oncoming traffic, according to a police press release.

Police said the 20-year-old man, whose name was not available, was driving a 1999 Ford Contour west on Route 101 between Covenant Way and Jenkins Road when, for an unknown reason, he drove across the road’s center line, hitting a trailer being towed by a truck before swerving head on into a 2004 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified by police only as a 49-year-old Bedford woman, was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life threatening.

The man in the Contour was flown to an out-of-state hospital — police did not say which one.

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
