DERRY — A local woman faces a felony assault charge after police said she allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest Wednesday morning during an argument.

Christine Felix, 50, of 30 Kendall Pond Road, #85, is charged with first degree assault, a class A felony, for the alleged stabbing of her husband, Jose Felix, of the same address. Mr. Felix sustained a wound to the upper chest, according to police. He was taken by ambulance to Parkland Medical Center, where he was treated and later released, Derry police Capt. Vern Thomas said in a news release.

At approximately 9:48 a.m., police received a report of a domestic dispute at the Felix residence. One person had allegedly been stabbed, Thomas said. Responding officers made contact with Christine Felix, who said that she had been in an argument with her husband a short time earlier, according to police. Mr. Felix was injured and had left the residence on foot prior to police arrival, Thomas said.

Several Derry officers and a Salem K-9 unit then conducted a search of the surrounding area to locate Mr. Felix. At 10:41 a.m., he was found lying in a wooded area approximately 50 yards from the residence. He was conscious and showed a stab wound to his upper-left chest, Thomas said. He was transported by Derry Fire Department ambulance to Parkland Medical Center.

Derry police arrested Christine Felix at the residence, Thomas said.

Bail was set at $10,000 cash by the bail commissioner and Christine Felix was transported to the Rockingham County Jail.

She is expected to be arraigned Thursday, Aug. 28, before the 10th Circuit Court-District Division-Derry, according to police.
