Will Apple's infatuation with NH firm's sapphire ruin Corning?

The year 2007 marked the beginning of Corning’s partnership with Apple following the launch of the iPhone, when Gorilla Glass was introduced for the first time in Apple gadgets. Since then, Corning has been an important display supplier for the iPhone and iPad. The partnership was running strong until 2013, when Apple made a $578 million investment in GTAT’s Sapphire technology.
