The 5th Annual UFO Festival celebrates the "Incident in Exeter," which occurred in 1965. On Sept. 3, 1965, Norman Muscarello was hitchhiking home when he spotted a 90-foot-wide object that was brightly lit. Muscarello later returned with Officer Eugene Bertrand and the two watched the object fly out of the woods and up into the sky. Several other witnesses reported seeing the object during this time, including Officer David Hunt. The incident was investigated by the Air Force but officials couldn't identify the object and the mystery remains unsolved to this day. In addition to a day of speakers, there will be live music, arts and crafts, face painting for the kids, and more! This family-friendly, fun festival takes place at Exeter Town Hall and downtown, and admission is free. Bring your dog too! There will be a "Doggie Splashdown" where you can enjoy an afternoon of pool games with your dog at the Dan Healy outdoor pool. The fee is $5 per dog/handler. Call the Pet Pantry at 603-583-4853 to sign up.
