LACONIA — A city man whose brother was arrested in March on drug charges was himself arrested last week on drug sale charges based on video from an extensive surveillance system in his brother’s apartment at 25 Gale Ave.
Bail was set at $5,000 cash for Matthew Perkins, 24, of 57 Holman Ave., who is charged with two counts of sale of a narcotic drug.
Police say they based the charges on video from the apartment of Roger Perkins Jr., 31, who also has a Methuen, Mass., residence.
Roger Perkins was arrested March 25, after what police said was an eight-month investigation.
Roger Perkins was charged with two felony counts of possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute. That case is still working its way through the court system.
It was the video from Roger’s apartment, obtained by police through a search warrant related to Roger’s arrest in March, that resulted in the two charges for Matthew and one charge of sale of a narcotic drug for Keith Lafoe, 40, of 736 Union St., who was released on personal recognizance bail.
The two brothers have criminal histories involving drugs.
On Nov. 24, 2012, Matthew Perkins was arrested after police said he and another man brawled at the intersection of Oak and Pleasant streets about 2:30 a.m.
Police said Perkins had nine bags of cocaine and a large amount of cash with him.
