Thief steals 3 bottles of wine in Concord

CONCORD - Police released a video surveillance photo and asked for the public's help to track down a man they say stole three bottles of wine on Aug. 1 from Cumberland Farms on Manchester Street by hiding them in his pants.

According to police, the man, who appeared to be in his 30s, took three bottles of Wild Irish Rose Wine, valued at $5.99 each, and concealed them in his pants. A delivery person reported seeing the man take the wine, and the store manager later discovered three bottles were missing.

The manager then reviewed the store's surveillance footage, which showed a gray Toyota Camry pull into the parking lot around 7:25 a.m.

The passenger got out, entered the store and went to the wine display, where he was seen lifting his shirt and putting something in his pants. The man then selected and paid for two bottles of sports drink and left the store.

The thief was described as having a medium to heavy build and brown hair in a "buzz cut," wearing a light blue T-shirt, blue plaid shorts and a gold chain.
