Claremont man accused of molesting two toddlers and making child pornography to appear for plea hearing
NEWPORT — A Claremont man accused of molesting two toddlers and making child pornography is scheduled to plead guilty in Sullivan County Superior Court next week.
Husband and wife, Kevin Blood, 25, and Ashley Blood, 25, of 4 Hanover Street in Claremont were arrested on multiple charges last year.
Ashley Blood was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison at a plea and sentencing hearing last month. In December she was indicted on two counts of manufacturing images or video of child pornography, and one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault. She was later indicted on an additional count of aggravated felonious sexual assault.
A trial for her husband, Kevin Blood, was set to start Sept. 14. However, he is now scheduled to appear in Superior Court Sept. 3 for a plea and sentencing hearing.
He was indicted on seven charges by the grand jury in December, two counts of manufacturing of child sex abuse images and five counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault charges on two victims, ages 1 and 4, between Nov. 1 and Nov. 25.He is currently being held at the Sullivan County House of Corrections in Unity.Sullivan County Attorney Marc Hathaway declined to comment Friday on the pending plea and sentencing hearing.
The child pornography charges carry the penalty of 15 to 30 years in state prison and a $4,000 fine.
The sexual assault charges carry a prison sentence of 10 to 20 years and a $4,000 fine.
The Bloods were arrested by Claremont police Dec. 5 after an 11-day investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse against the couple. Antrim police, the Grafton and Sullivan Child Advocacy Center and the N.H. Division for Children Youth and Family assisted in the investigation, according to Claremont police.
