Free health tests offered in Manchester, Nashua

The Way to Well Health Tour, which travels the country delivering free health tests, education and consultations to adults 18 and older, is coming to Manchester and Nashua.

A collaboration among Walgreens, AARP and National Urban League, the tour features free preventive and early detection health services that provide a baseline status of overall health.

The health tour will be at three Walgreens locations:

Manchester: Wednesday, Sept. 3, noon to 6 p.m., 227 S. Main St.

Manchester: Thursday, Sept. 4, noon to 6 p.m., 606 Valley St.

Nashua: Friday, Sept. 5, noon to 6 p.m., 283 Main St.

The free tests, valued at more than $100, include total cholesterol levels, glucose levels, blood pressure and a comprehensive weight assessment test. The tour's certified wellness staff also will assess potential risks for cancer, heart disease and diabetes based on personal health information.

The testing process will take about 20 minutes. Results will be ready immediately and will be explained during an on-site consultation with a Walgreens' pharmacist or one of the wellness staff. No insurance is necessary, and insurance will not be billed.

The tour also will provide resources and incentives to give people support and motivation to make healthy choices every day.
