Three teens sent to area hospitals after crash on Blackwater Road at Rochester-Dover border

ROCHESTER – Police continue to investigate whether speed or other factors caused a single-vehicle accident on Blackwater Road at the Dover border just before midnight Thursday.

Police, firefighters and emergency personnel responded at 11:25 p.m. after a northbound Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Colby Brown, 18, of Rochester, lost control after failing to negotiate a sharp right turn. The Blazer left the road and struck a large rock and tree, according to police.

While “alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash,” the accident remains under investigation.

The Blazer, which was extensively damaged, was towed.

Brown and his two passengers - Austin Brock, 18, of Rochester, and a 16-year-old boy whose identity was not released – suffered “apparent non-life threatening injuries,” police said.

Dover firefighters brought Brown to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover while paramedics transported the two passengers to Frisbie Memorial Hospital, police said.
