Portsmouth man indicted for alleged Dover burglary spree

DOVER — An alleged springtime spree could land a Portsmouth man in prison for several decades.

Antwun Whitney, 27, whose last known address is 59 Deer St. #515, Portsmouth, was charged with 10 counts of burglary, three counts of attempted burglary and one count of criminal mischief in connection with several incidents in the mill building at 1 Washington St. March 28 and 29.

Whitney allegedly broke into Mill Eats in Suite 330, Fenway Sourcing in Suite 501, Alternative and Holistic Health in Suite 4012, NH Small Business Development Center in Suite 4015, Cody Outdoor Center in Suite 4024, Photography by Carin in Suite 4013 and twice into Symscio in Suite 4010 and Wire It Inc. in Suite 4043, according to the indictments, which the grand jury handed up Aug. 15.

It is unclear what items were taken from the businesses or what Whitney may have been looking for.

Additionally, Whitney allegedly attempted to force his way into Northeast Evaluation Specialist in Suite 443, River Path Wellness in Suite 4041 and Prometheus Group in Suite 303 between March 28 and 29.

The criminal mischief charge stems from the damage — which exceeds $1,500 – Whitney allegedly caused during the other crimes, according to the indictments.

Whitney is scheduled to appear for an arraignment in Superior Court Aug. 28 at 9 a.m.

All three charges are Class B felonies which could result in up to 3½ to 7 years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
