Windham thefts from vehicles on the rise

WINDHAM — Police are warning Windham residents to lock their vehicles and secure their belongings following a series of burglaries over the past several weeks.

Windham Police Chief Gerald Lewis said the department had responded to vehicle break-ins in several neighborhoods in the northern part of town, including Nashua, Londonderry, Telo, Blueberry and Tarbell roads.

In all instances, victims reported that their unlocked vehicles had been entered during the overnight hours and property had been stolen.

Lewis said police believe the suspect or suspects have been entering the neighborhoods on foot.

Residents who may hear or see individuals walking their neighborhoods late at night are asked to call the Windham Police Department at 434-5577.
