Keene woman charged with stabbing man

KEENE — A Keene woman was arrested Thursday after police said she stabbed a man at an Amory Street home.

Police responded to 69 Armory St. on Thursday and said they found that Emina Hoti, 31, of Keene, had stabbed John Hanrahan, 57, of Keene with a knife, causing a puncture wound to Hanrahan’s torso. Hanrahan was taken to Cheshire Medical Center for treatment of the injury, which police said was not life-threatening.

Hoti was charged with second degree assault and held without bail at the Cheshire County House of Corrections overnight. She was arraigned in the 8th Circuit Court District Division in Keene on Friday.

Police said the stabbing is an isolated incident, saying Hoti and Hanrahan are known to each other, however, the case remains under investigation by Detective Joel Chidester and Detective Steven LaMears.
