Manchester Swim Team second in Granite State competition
Manchester Swim Team recently finished second in Division 3 in the Granite State Swim Association championship meet at Raco Theodore pool in Manchester.
Manchester Swim Team, in conjunction with the Rockingham Area Youth Swim Team, hosted the three-day event. Over 15 New Hampshire swim teams participated in the event, with teams divided into four divisions of competition.
Two MST athletes broke GSSA long course swim records. Riley Ewing, 18, swam a record time of 2:17.84 in the 200 individual medley, and Noelle Theodoulou, 15, set a record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:16.10.
Several swimmers placed first in their events, including McKenzie Phelps, Olivia Neville, Logan Lamb, Katie Jenkins, Taylor Hough, Zach Denbow, Max Cross and Allison Gowern.
Swimmers with personal best times in the meet were: Amanda Roberge, Audrey Reed, Jillian Poirier, Christopher Ploss, Aubrey Patrick, Joshua Hetzel, Maya Hedstrom, Hildi Ettinger, Madison Edwards, Jason Dufour, William Craig, Sarah Craig, Zach Bonte, Warren Apple, Abigail Gowern, Alisa Gorbunova, Maria Dufour, Amelia Cullen, Kathryn Craig and Victoria Apple.
Manchester Swim Team had five first-place finishes in relays. Gorbunova, Kathryn Craig, Allison Gowern and Cullen were first in the 9-10 200 medley relay with a time of 2:51.72. Hough, Roberge, Phelps and Hedstrom placed first in the 11-12 200 Medley relay and first in the 11-12 200 freestyle relay with a time of 2:13.85. Ewing, Denbow, Lamb and Max Cross touched first in both the 15-19 200 medley relay, with a time of 2:01.16, and the 15-19 200 freestyle relay.
