Hooksett woman dies after N.J. swimming accident
HOOKSETT — A local woman who was rescued last week after getting caught in a rip current in Atlantic City, N.J., died Saturday after being taken off life support, according to her obituary and a report in an Atlantic City newspaper.
Rita L. Hrycuna, 59, was swimming in the Atlantic Ocean on Aug. 4 when she was caught in the current. She was rescued by onlookers in a personal watercraft, the Press of Atlantic City reported.
Her daughter, Lori Goley, told the Press of Atlantic City that the family was grateful that the rescue efforts gave the family a few days to say goodbye to Hrycuna.
