Manchester police search for gunman in store robbery

MANCHESTER — A gunman made off with a convenience store cash drawer early Friday morning after a brief struggle with the store clerk, police said.

Raed Al Rubaye, 39, the clerk at TN Convenience, at Chestnut and Bridge streets, told police a masked man brandishing a black handgun came into the store around 4:40 a.m.

The robber demanded cash and Rubaye briefly struggled with him before the man grabbed the cash drawer containing an undisclosed amount of money and ran out the door with it.

He was last seen driving away in a dark-colored sedan, described as an older model Acura.

The robber was wearing a dark-colored winter hat, dark-colored sweatshirt and a New England Patriots T-shirt.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Manchester police detectives at 668-8711.
