Thermal Dynamics Corp. workers eligible for benefits

WEST LEBANON — The U.S. Department of Labor has determined that Thermal Dynamics Corp., a subsidiary of Victor Technologies International, has been adversely impacted by increased imports. In addition, it has been certified for Trade Adjustment Assistance benefits, and also Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance.

The certification includes on-site leased workers from The Leddy Group, Technical Needs North, and Oxford Global Resources, Inc.

Affected workers totally or partially separated from employment on or after June 19, 2013 and before July 18, 2016 may be eligible to receive weekly cash benefits; financial assistance for remedial or vocational training programs/travel allowances to and from training; job search expenses; relocation allowances; Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance (ATAA); and other reemployment services such as résumé preparation, employment counseling and job referrals.

For information about these benefits, all workers should inquire at the nearest New Hampshire Works One-Stop Center. Visit nhes.nh.gov to find the closest New Hampshire Employment Security Office. For more information, contact Jeri Jewell, trade act coordinator, at 229-4355.

Sears opens ‘Hometown’ store in Swanzey

SWANZEY — Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc. opened its newest New Hampshire Sears Hometown Store last week at 15 W. Swanzey Road in Swanzey.

The Swanzey location marks the seventh opening of a new Sears Hometown Store this year and the 17th opening of a new store across all of Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores formats, the company said.

“We’re both proud and excited to fulfill high consumer demand for Sears Hometown Stores in the Swanzey/Keene area and to become a staple in the community,” said Mike Habiby, store manager of Sears Hometown in Swanzey, in a news release.

This format allows customers in small communities to have access to products and brands usually found only in Sears stores.
