Conservation funds will be used for the $11,700 purchase price for the land, which borders Hampstead’s town forest.
According to Plaistow Town Manager Sean Fitzgerald, the closing costs on the three acres will be about $500 and the closing should be completed in 30 to 60 days.
“Several years ago, the Plaistow First Committee looked in Plaistow for property it could potentially acquire or add to the town forest, and this parcel was one that (they) sought to acquire,” he said. “They discussed the property numerous times, and it will make an excellent fit for the town.”
“I’m also glad we remembered that this recommendation was made by the Plaistow First Committee,” he said. “They made a lot of good recommendation.”
“I think everybody will appreciate the historic nature of this property,” Fitzgerald said.
