Muskrats, Swamp Bats split twinbill

The Keene Swamp Bats and Laconia Muskrats split a doubleheader Tuesday at Robbie Mills Park in Laconia.

Laconia won the opener, 6-4, on Vinnie Zarrillo’s two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth. Jacob Henson went 3-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run.

Robbie Coman had a two-run homer for Keene, while Zach Lauricell and Aubrey McCarty had solo shots for the Swamp Bats.

Keene took the nightcap, 7-6. The Swamp Bats got a solo home run and three RBIs from Stephen Smith. Jarred Mederos went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Coman drove in two runs.

Michael Dunnigan earned the win for Keene with four innings of scoreless ball. He allowed four hits, walked two and struck out two in improving his record to 2-2.

Southern New Hampshire University’s Ben Criscuolo pitched the sixth and seventh innings for the save.

Ben Miller had the big blow for Laconia with a grand slam. He went 2-for-4 and drove in five runs. Matt Byrne went 1-for-2 with two runs and two walks.

Laconia hosts Mystic today at 4 p.m. while Keene visits Vermont with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
