Police seeking help to identify alleged credit card thieves
MANCHESTER — Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man and woman suspected of credit card theft.
Detective David Dupont said two female theft victims had their credit cards used by the woman to purchase items, including gift cards at Rite Aid.
The first theft occurred May 30 at McGarvey’s Saloon, 1097 Elm St. The victim told police that a woman with dark brown hair approached her from behind and asked what was on tap. Shortly afterwards, the victim discovered that her wallet and car keys had been taken.
Later that night, two fraudulent charges were posted using the victim’s stolen credit card at Rite Aid. Still photos of the woman using the card were captured from video, and as she left RiteAid.
Dupont said the second theft occurred June 20 at Hooked Restaurant, 110 Hanover St. The victim said a man and a woman created a disturbance by dropping menus on the floor. While that victim was distracted, the woman grabbed the victim’s purse and ran out of the resaurant.
Later that evening, the second victim’s credit card was used for several fraudulent charges. One store where such charges were made was the same Rite Aid pharmacy where the first stolen card was used. The female allegedly involved in the theft again used the credit card to buy gift cards.
Dupont would like to speak to anyone who can identify either one or both of the two people in the photos.
