Man shot in the chest in Rochester, shooter remains at large

ROCHESTER – As man was airlifted after being shot in the chest, police continue to look for another man involved in the shooting that took place along Lafayette Street Tuesday morning.

Police, firefighters and emergency personnel responded to 42 Lafayette St. following the shooting. Soon after, police began searching for a thin, black man with dreadlocks who had fled the area on foot.  A section of Lafayette Street was cordoned off.

The gunshot victim was transported to the hospital and eventually flown to another facility due to the seriousness of his injuries. Police have not released the victim's identity or provided an update as to his condition.
