Bedford and Lebanon advanced from Sunday’s games in the New Hampshire Junior American Legion state tourney — and earned a day off, too.
Bedford, thanks to a complete game by pitcher Ben Jones, beat Windham, 11-6, at Gill Stadium in Manchester. Jones limited Windham to eight hits and contributed a double and two walks at the plate.
In the other losers’ bracket contest, Lebanon used Bryar Brouillard’s complete game to beat Salem, 9-3. Brouillard carried a no-hitter in the seventh and final inning before settling for a three-hitter.
Both Bedford and Lebanon improved to 2-1 in the double-elimination tourney.
Today the other two teams remaining in the tourney meet: Dover against Rochester at 1 p.m. That’s today’s only game, with competition resuming Tuesday.
