Salem planners OK four-lot subdivision plan
SALEM — The Planning Board has approved Richard Mika’s plan for a four-lot subdivision on Lakeshore Road and Goodridge Avenue.
The plan includes the reconstruction and paving of 1,200 feet of Goodridge Avenue at the developer’s expense.
The Planning Board held a hearing on the plan last month and had concerns about the condition of Goodridge Avenue and questions about drainage from the 2.75-acre property.
The revised plan that was approved by the board this week includes the road plan as well as an improved drainage system on the property, according to project engineer Kurt Meisner.
The development will include a connection to the town sewer system by the developer.
The estimated cost of the road and utility work for the developer is about $124,000, according to Planning Director Ross Moldoff.
“The developer does need approval from the Board of Selectmen for the road widening and the sewer extension,” said Moldoff.
The lots for the single-family homes in the subdivision meet the zoning requirement of 25,000 square feet, Moldoff said.
With the upgrades from the previous public hearing, the Planning Board unanimously approved the site plan.
“I did drive around this site, and I do think it will enhance this neighborhood,” said board member Paul Pelletier.
