UPDATED: Missing Stratford woman found in woods

Norma Dimick

STRATFORD -- A 67-year-old woman reported missing Tuesday afternoon was found 10 hours later in nearby woods by a dog team with the New England K-9 Search and Rescue Emergency responders.

Groveton ambulance and the Stratford Fire Department helped take Norma Dimick, who is in her 60s, out of the wooded area where she was found.

She was transported by ambulance to Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster for further evaluation, according to Fish and Game officials.

Dimick was reported missing from her Bog Road home about 1 p.m. Tuesday. Her caregiver called authorities after looking for her for about 20 minutes and not finding her.

New Hampshire Fish and Game were notified and soon a ground and air search were underway. Involved in the search were New Hampshire State Police, which brought in its helicopter, K-9 units from Fish and Game, Fish and Game conservation officers, Stratford firefighters and the N.E. K-9 teams.

Dimick, a diabetic who is insulin dependent and who has other medical issues, was found about 11 p.m., according to state officials.
