Dealership's runaway SUV strikes vehicle

MERRIMACK — A runaway SUV crashed into a Toyota Prius stopped at a red light at Continental Boulevard and Route 101A Sunday, sending the Prius driver to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police said a Chevy Tahoe rolled out of the parking lot at Autofair Volkswagen on Route 101A and into the intersection with Continental Boulevard Sunday, striking a Toyota Prius stopped at the traffic light.

Police said the Prius driver, Anurat Garcia, 41, of Cannongate III, Nashua, was transported to the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua with non life-threatening injuries.

The investigation determined that an Autofair salesman had parked the Tahoe after returning from a test drive and the vehicle rolled out of the parking lot and down the embankment, hitting the Prius, and ending up on the lawn of the Ocean National Bank at Pennichuck Square.

The Prius ended up on the center median. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
