Trio charged with Madbury murder to go before grand jury

DOVER — Two of the three men charged with killing a fellow classmate with knives and a machete have agreed there is enough evidence for a trial, while the third faces a hearing later this month.

Michael Tatum, 21, of Barrington, Tristan Wolusky, 18, of Rochester, and Zachary Pinette, 18, of Springvale, Maine, all face first-degree murder charges for allegedly stabbing Aaron Wilkinson, 18, outside his home at 36 Evans Rd. in Madbury during the early morning hours of June 21.

Wilkinson’s body was found along Long Swamp Road in Lebanon, Maine around 4 p.m. — hours after his father called police to report his son was missing.

All four men were once students at Great Bay Charter School in Exeter.

After attending Dover schools, Wilkinson attended the charter school for three years beginning in his sophomore year. It remains unclear why Wilkinson withdrew from the charter school in April during his senior year — just before he graduated.

On Monday, Tatum and Wolusky both appeared 7th Circuit Court-District Division-Dover. While Tatum waived his probable cause hearing, Wolusky’s hearing was rescheduled to July 23.

Previously Pinette waived his probable cause hearing – which determines whether there is enough evidence to warrant a trial. Both cases were bound over to the grand jury, which will meet in the future, according to court records.

If indicted, the three men - who have been held without bail at the Strafford County Jail since their arrests June 26 — could face life sentences in prison, if convicted.
