NEWPORT — A Claremont woman accused of molesting two toddlers and making child pornography is expected to plead guilty Wednesday in Sullivan County Superior Court.
Ashley Blood, 25, and her husband Kevin Blood, 25, of 4 Hanover Street, Claremont, were arrested on multiple charges last year. They are currently being held at the Sullivan County House of Corrections in Unity.
In December, she was indicted on the charges on two counts of manufacturing images or video of child pornography, and one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault.
Last month, the grand jury convened in the Sullivan County Superior Court in Newport and indicted her on an additional count of aggravated felonious sexual assault.
She was to have been arraigned on the new charge in superior court last week when the arraignment was canceled and a plea and sentencing hearing was set for Wednesday at 1 p.m. She was scheduled for an August trial.
Sullivan County Attorney Marc Hathaway declined to comment Monday on the pending plea and sentencing hearing.
A trial for her husband, Kevin Blood, is set to start Sept. 14. He was indicted on seven charges by the grand jury in December, two counts of manufacturing of child sex abuse images and five counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault charges on two victims ages one- and four-years-old between Nov. 1 and Nov. 25.
The child pornography charges carry the penalty of 15 to 30 years in state prison and a $4,000 fine.
The sexual assault charges carry a prison sentence of 10 to 20 years and a $4,000 fine.
The Bloods were arrested by Claremont police Dec. 5 after an 11-day investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse against the couple. Antrim police, the Grafton and Sullivan Child Advocacy Center and the NH Division of Children, Youth and Family assisted in the investigation, according to Claremont police.
