HOLLIS — Two Nashua men were arrested on drug and alcohol charges after a Hollis police officer stopped their vehicle for a speeding violation on South Depot Road shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Officer Mitchel Cardona reported detecting an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle after he stopped it on the speeding violation.

After a subsequent investigation, the driver, Anthony Cardona, 19, of Fairmont Street, was charged with transportation of drugs in a motor vehicle and unlawful transportation of alcohol.

His passenger, William Sullivan, 20, of Prescott Street, was charged with possession of a controlled drug and unlawful possession of alcohol.

Both Cardona and Sullivan were released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and are scheduled for arraignment Aug. 20 in Ninth Circuit Court-Nashua District Division.
