LOUDON — Even if you are not a big race fan, the New Hampshire Motor Speedway has something for everyone to enjoy from zip lines to concerts or fireworks, but of course the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Sunday is the big draw.

This afternoon, the on-track action kicks off NASCAR race week with Fan Fest, which is free to the public.

“We have something at the facility for everyone from the race enthusiast who looks forward to awesome on-track racing and beyond with things throughout the property that other family members can enjoy. We basically have a three-ring circus,” said Kristen Lestock, NHMS director of communications.

The event starts with the haulers parade, where the haulers arrive and parade around the track and then park their rigs. “It is like the elephant walk before the circus,” commented Lestock.

Fan Fest will include a question-and-answer session with drivers Jimmy Lehoux and Eddie MacDonald from Rowley, Mass., who just received a Spring Cup start, giveaways, a concert, then fireworks at 8:30 p.m. plus raffles to benefit the Speedway Children’s Charities.

A camper appreciation party is set for tonight from 8 to 10 with dollar beer and hot dogs.

There will be zip lines for fans, go-cart racing, Broadway on the Midway, which has shows, concerts and interactive displays, balloon artists, raffles, face painting and driver appearances.

“Besides five races, unique events include sky divers, an airshow on Friday and Saturday, while on Sunday, “Recycled Percussion” will perform with a pre-race concert, and New England Patriot Julian Edelman will be driving the pace car on Sunday,” added Lestock.

Speedway Children’s Charities will have several weekend events, including Champions Breakfast on Friday; Track Walk presented by PPG on Saturday; and the Ride of a Lifetime on Sunday.
