Love is just one of a steady stream of reporters who have left state legislative bureaus in recent years. Tom Fahey, a longtime bureau chief for the New Hampshire Union Leader, left in 2012 to take a job with the state Bankers Association. The Keene Sentinel, the Portsmouth Herald and Fosterís Daily Democrat all used to maintain statehouse bureaus. Now, they only send reporters for special events.
