132-mph street racers blow by trooper in Nashua, one of two arrested; motorcyclist arrested on I-93 doing 107 mph

A New Hampshire state trooper was able to stop one of two men racing north on the Everett Turnpike in Nashua at speeds up to 132 mph just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, but the other driver got away.

Shortly after that incident, on Interstate 95 in Greenland, another trooper stopped a southbound motorcyclist clocked at 107 mph.

In the incident on the Everett Turnpike in Nashua, Trooper First Class Kieran Fagan was traveling north in a marked cruiser when he was passed by two cars racing at high speed.

Fagan confirmed the two vehicles — a charcoal gray Subaru WRX and a black Toyota Supra coupe — were traveling at 132 mph as they changed lanes.

Fagan was able to stop the Toyota, driven by Kenneth Guertin, 45, of Hudson, who was charged with felony reckless conduct and criminal mischief, the latter charge relating to an incident after he was in custody.

Guertin was released on bail and is scheduled for arraignment Aug. 6 in Circuit Court-Nashua District Division.

State police are seeking the driver of the gray Subaru WRX and anyone with information on the driver's identity is asked to contact Trooper Fagan at the New Hampshire State Police Troop B. Barracks at 666-3333.

The Special Enforcement Unit conducting a detail with the Sstate police aircraft on Interstate 95 in Greenland clocked a motorcycle traveling south at high speed and passing other traffic at about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday.

Trooper Craig Gagne was able to stop the motorcycle, which had been clocked at 107 mph, and arrested the driver, Scott Gardiner, 22, of Hampton. Gardiner was charged with reckless driving and released on bail, scheduled for arraignment Sept. 8 in Circuit Court-Portsmouth District Division.
