The study released Tuesday by the Pew Charitable Trusts says New Hampshire's per inmate spending on prison health care grew 28 percent between 2007 and 2011, rising to $10,191. The current budget allocates about $8,800 per inmate. The Department of Corrections says just 9 percent of inmates were 49 years old or older in 2007, while nearly 22 percent were at least 50 in 2011.
