Taylor Seiberth and her father, Daryn, decided to pamper their friendly four-legged friend at southern New Hampshire's newest luxury dog boarding facility, D La Pooch Hotel in Hooksett. (RYAN O'CONNOR/Union Leader Correspondent)

Ruffing it up in the lap of canine luxury in Hooksett

HOOKSETT — For years, Lindsey Todt heard requests from customers of Pooch Pals, her popular dog walking and in-home pet sitting business, to extend her services to boarding. She decided to do exactly that, but she said she didn’t want to create just another kennel.

Three weeks ago, she opened the doors to D La Pooch Hotel at 21 Londonderry Turnpike.

“I couldn’t find many places around this area that offered pet luxury, and I thought it would be a nice addition to this area,” she said. “It’s an opportunity to spoil your dog or cat.”

The new business offers, or will soon offer, everything from dog and cat boarding, dog sitting, doggy day care, dog walking, dog training and agility classes.

Said Todt: “It’s all luxury. It’s crate-free. We’re here 24/7 for ’round-the-clock care. (Dogs and cats) have their own rooms.

They have suites with TVs, they have ice cream, they have frozen peanut butter KONGs and frozen yogurt frozen KONGs. We have vacation photo packages ... it’s basically your dog’s camping adventure while you’re away too.”

But increased amenities doesn’t necessarily translate into increased cost.

Todt said a standard dog or cat room is $45 a night and a dog suite, which includes a memory foam bed, television with dog movies and web cam so owners can check in, is available for $65 a night. The ice cream and KONG treats are $4 each, and photo packages run from $10 to $32.

Daryn Seiberth, who was dropping off his dog Brady for a few days, said the business’ reputation already precedes itself.

“I saw a good review on it and I saw the rooms and I said, ‘Hey, it looks like a great place, it’ll be comfortable (for Brady), let’s try it out,’” Siberth said.
