LIghtning strike sends Epping house up in flames

EPPING - Lightning stuck an Epping home Thursday night, touching off a four-alarm fire and forcing the homeowners to run for safety.

The occupants reported the strike at 36 Longmeadow Farm Drive about 10:40 p.m. and the two adults evacuated the single-family home on their own, Epping Police Sgt. Richard Cote said.

Firefighters struck a fourth alarm about 11:37 p.m

The second-floor of the house was heavily damaged, Cote said.

The homeowners were at their house Friday with insurance adjustors. It was not immediately known when they will be able to return .
