Extremist church says it will protest local Marine's funeral

Followers of Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., demonstrated at funerals for dead servicemen as well as the funerals of celebrities over the years.

Members of the extremist Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church have said they plan to protest the memorial services for Greenfield native Cpl. Brandon Garabrant, the 19-year-old Marine who was killed in Afghanistan June 20. The New Hampshire chapter of the Patriot Guard Riders motorcycle group has announced its members will attend the funeral on Saturday morning at ConVal Regional High School with American flags and will escort the funeral procession on their motorcycles.
