As the Fourth Amendment makes clear, “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated.” That right should not be sacrificed just because the contents of a lifetime can now be stored inside an object that fits in a pocket.
