NASHUA — Two blocks of Main Street will close later this summer for three separate summer concerts aiming to promote downtown music and merchants.
“We are very excited by the caliber of the bands we’ve booked for this summer’s (concert) series, and I think attendees will be delighted at the talent we’re bringing to downtown Nashua,” Chris Williams, president of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, said of the AutoFair Downtown Music Festival.
The area of 185 Main St. between High Street, Factory Street and Pearl Street will be converted into an outdoor concert settling, complete with a stage, beer garden and food vendors.
“There is something for everyone in this summer’s line-up, and Nashua’s Main Street is a fantastic venue to bring Nashua people together outdoors and enjoy some great music this summer,” Williams said.
The July 19 concert will feature the band Roomful of Blues, with the opening act by The Love Dogs, both described as performing swinging jump-blues music with high energy. The second concert on Aug. 16 will be headlined by the band Entrain, performing a rock, blues and jazz style music, with the opening band Hot Like Fire, a Caribbean-infused music genre. The third and final concert on Sept. 13 will feature Boston-based rock bands The Stompers and The Fools sharing the stage.
“The AutoFair Downtown Music Festival is now in its third year of success, and it is proof of the possibilities that exist when the city, the business community and the creative community all work together,” said Chris Malloy, principal of Community Events, LLC., adding the music series is designed to bring vibrancy into the downtown.
For each of the concerts, the gates will open at 6 p.m. and close around 11 p.m. Alcohol will be available for patrons over 21 with a valid identification; however, personal food and beverages will be prohibited. A season pass for all three concerts is $25. Individual passes for the first two concerts are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets for the last concert are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. The concerts are organized by the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce and Community Events, LLC, and sponsored by AutoFair.
