June 20. 2014 9:23PM
The 91st annual Loudon Classic Motorcycle Weekend kicked off on Friday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Riders from the Loudon Road Race Series and Side Car Racers Association joined amateur riders to go head-to-head in more than 20 races.
One of the main events was the Unlimited Grand Prix. Featuring a variety of bikes of all weights and sizes with unlimited modifications, Robert Bloodgood won the eight-lap race in 12:41.277.
Bloodgood edged Rick Breen and Rick Doucette, a perennial Loudon Classic weekend all-star.
With Doucette dominating, an accident on Lap 2 forced a red flag and the field was reset. Bloodgood used a strong restart to work his way through the field, eventually making a last-lap pass en route to the win.
Clarence Beaudette won the Amateur Unlimited Grand Prix event.
Day two of racing begins today at 1 p.m. with the Legends Cars Moat Mountain Road Course Series. The first motorcycle race will begin at 1:25 p.m. Events run through Sunday. Tickets are available at the main gate. For more information call 783-4931 or visit nhms.com.
