Father's Day: Gifts for dad not rocket science

What does Dad want for Father's Day?

The answer is less of a puzzle than Freud's query about what women want.

Dad wants to know that his kids love him. He wants to know that his time away from the family to put bread on the table was understood and that his time with the family is appreciated.

He wants to know that if he doesn't always say the right thing, those times are more than equalled when his pat on the back or strong hug is still the best touch in the whole, wide world.

He wants to know that the kids still like his bedtime stories, tolerate his jokes, and understand that he really did walk for miles, uphill both ways, to school.

Oh, and he'd probably like to watch the U.S. Open golf finale this afternoon.
