Three charged with prowling after Manchester resident awakened

MANCHESTER — Three men are under arrest for prowling after a Fieldcrest Road man woke up about 3 a.m. Thursday hearing noises that sounded like someone was trying to get into his home through the rear door.

The man looked outside his 219 Fieldcrest Road home and saw three men running away from his home and into the woods.

He called police and Officer Rob Megowen arrived with K9 Lynk. The two tracked the men into the woods near PSNH power lines and out onto Montgomery Street.

The dog continued to follow the scent to Champlain Street, where a resident reported seeing three men in the rear of her home.

Megowen and Lynk continued their hunt for the prowlers, going over a fence and into the Calvary Cemetery, where the dog lost the scent along the Piscataquog River.

Shortly after, Officer Tom Donovan saw three men walking along Eddy Road who police identified as Joshua Gagnon, 20, of 101 Dubuque St.; Michael Janelle, 18, of 484 Hevey St, and Jacob Aliengena, 17, of 314 Dubuque St.

The three matched the description of the prowlers, police said, and their muddied clothes indicated they had been in a wooded, muddy area.

Police determined they were the same men spotted by the Fieldcrest Road resident and the three were each issued a summons to appear in court on a prowling charge.
