NASHUA — A local man is facing a charge of attempted burglary after police said he kicked in the door of a West Hollis Street residence on Monday before being startled by the woman inside and fleeing.
Police arrested Kempton Doyle, 52, of 50 Westgate Crossing, and charged him with attempt to commit burglary, a Class B felony punishable by up to seven years in prison.
According to police, the woman said she was inside her residence about 11 a.m. that day when her doorbell rang. When she didn’t answer the door because she didn’t recognize the man outside, he kicked the door in, police said.
He fled when he saw the woman inside, police said.
Police stopped Doyle riding a bicycle in the area of West Hollis Street and Westgate Village, where he was taken into custody.
Doyle’s bail was set at $10,000 cash or surety pending arraignment in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
